Minor Side Effect
William McKee began taking finesteride, the generic for Propicia, in October of 2008. By May of 2010 he was divorcing his wife of 10 years because his body had taken on the characteristics of a woman and he had become attracted to men. For a full description of the transformation go here. As of December 2011 Mandi McKee is in therapy to help her transition into living as a woman full time. Apparently, she is not the only man to complain of sexual changes while taking the drug either. As far as side effects go, I gotta say, that one is a doosie!

When Embalming Goes Wrong
The Nelms Memorial Funeral Home forgot to embalm the body of Norman Holman. So when everyone showed up for his open-casket memorial service, they found him rotting in the casket. Adding insult to injury, the air conditioning chose that time to quit working, thereby accelerating the process of decomposition. According to the attorney of Holman's family, "There was dirt underneath his fingernails and people were dry heaving and gagging there at the church." Link waaytv.com

Chuck’s Leave of Absence
Dear Weirdo,I regret to announce that I'm going on Leave of Absence from Weird Universe. I have modest health problems that are limiting my productivity. There may come a time in the near future when I regain my full energy. There may even come a time in the more-near future when I can contribute this or that to Weird Universe. Just not right now.
The weekly syndicated News of the Weird newspaper column will continue on schedule. In fact, having to struggle so hard now on that column is the main reason I am insecure about my ability to produce for Weird Universe.
Please resist the urge to send me condolences. I'm definitely not malingering, but on the other hand, I'm not so bad off that I need to read condolences. It's just a Leave of Absence.
