If you want to send a message, but don't want to use email or snail mail, there are a couple of options.For a fee, Telegram Stop will deliver a message to someone in the form of an old-fashioned telegram (complete with "stop"s in place of periods).
Another option, which I like better, is the Message in a Bottle Server. It's an informal network of sites run by people who are willing to put your message in a bottle and throw it into the sea (or river) near where they live. For free.

Rainbow City
Palmitas Mexico has been beautified by Germen Crew, described as an alternative art group, at the government's request. The rainbow paint job is having great effects on the city too, including a reduction in crime. Sounds like a good idea well implemented.

Party Favors
Delightful mother of the year planning her daughter's 18th birthday party didn't think a limo ride to London for an evening of partying was enough. To make sure they had a good time she got 12 baggies of cocaine for the trip. The party was to be in February but unfortunately for mom police stopped by on the 31 of January to talk to her and caught her with the drugs. Having had 6 previous convictions tends to get you extra police attention.

He’ll Just Be Hungry Again In An Hour
An unfortunate Chinese woman who failed to answer her estranged husband's 2am phone call got a surprise visit at work the next day. The husband showed up and in a fit of temper bit her nose off and swallowed it. Due to the tissue being unrecoverable it will be at least 3 months before any reconstructive surgery can be done for her.

Sun Eating
From Hong Kong comes the latest fad in dieting. It's called "sun eating" or "sun gazing". You stand outside and stare at the setting sun, thereby consuming it's solar energy, which reduces (or even entirely eliminates) your body's need for food. Says one sun eater, "Some of us who have finished the therapy now eat less, and others don’t have to eat at all."The concept seems very similar to the practice of breatharianism (or inedia), whose practitioners believe that it's possible to live without food, subsisting only on air and sunlight. For obvious reasons, serious practitioners of breatharianism don't tend to live very long. The ones that cheat, however, stick around to spread the word.
Of course, it's possible that the fad of sun eating is entirely a creation of the media (i.e., a reporter took a few pictures of people looking at a sunset, then claimed they were "sun eating"). It's hard to know what the truth is with these things.
