An odd advertisement that I noticed while browsing through a 1916 journal, Current Opinion, on Google Books. It's for the "Trados" Nose-Shaper. The blurb tells us:

Slowest Marathon Ever
Now, I can be easily distracted, but I'm nothing compared to this guy. It seems that he stopped for some OJ at a garden party during his run, and just had a hard time starting again. He did eventually finish, 54 years later. Futility Closet

Fantomas
We are approaching, in 2011, the one-hundredth anniversary of the creation of Fantomas, villianous antihero adored by the French. But something about Fantomas just doesn't translate to American tastes, and he's never been popular here.Somehow I don't think this trailer from Fantomas's 1964 self-titled film will help win over the US audience.
