Ouija Board, 1968
Parker Brothers bought the commercial rights to the Ouija Board in 1966. Based on this 1968 ad, I'm guessing that they were wary of marketing it as a device for communicating with dead people. Instead, they tried to sell it as a kind of Magic 8-Ball. But really, who would ask a Ouija board such boring questions?

Eddie the Marshmallow-Eating Alligator
Eddie the Alligator achieved brief fame back in 1966 because of his food preferences. I'm no alligator expert, but I don't think that hand-feeding them marshmallows is recommended by experts.

Lionlike snorer sues wall-banger
Classic headline and story from The New York Times - Jan 21, 1964.My favorite line: "Mr. Scheir's snores of gigantic proportions are an animalistic roar, lionlike, that vibrate the rooms. The very anticipation of their beginning at about 2:30 A.M. every day has shaken my client and his wife, deprived them of sleep, injured their health, and, in fact, constitute an assault upon their persons."
The case was subsequently resolved by the construction of a soundproof wall.
