A Hair Of The Dog

Approximately 40,000 dog groomers and hair salons around the country are collecting all the loose hair they accumulate to donate it to A Matter of Trust. This is a not for profit organization with a dozen sites around the Gulf Coast area. In addition to hair they are collecting donations of nylons as well, for use in the oil spill clean up..One pound of dog hair can absorb a quart of oil in about a minute. The hair and nylons are being made into something called booms to soak up the oil. Now there's a great recycling effort!

This idea popped up years ago. Some (human) barber came up with it than then it quietly faded away until I see it again today. These "booms" can also be cleaned of the oil and reused over and over and when it's all over the hair is biodegradable.

Here's a video explaining it all.

Yea, but DuPont didn't think it up, can't make any money off of it, no ecofreak is picketing for it so it, and no politician is getting any campaign donations to promote it so won't happen.

Damn! Did I misspell "ecofreak"?

I'm thinking of starting a campaign to have every woman in the US shave and donate their pubic hair to this great cause 🐛

I have shaved my entire body and mailed my hair off to save the oceanic wildlife.

If you would like to do the same please feel free to contact me and I will send you the address to mail your hair to.

Or you can mail it to me. And I will sell it to some guy in Japan for fetishistic purposes.
