I don't know where people got the idea that a ghost is tied to one place.
If they haven't moved on to a different plane, they're here all the time.
(The enviable difference between them and us is that if they're visiting a house in Loudonville and want to walk along RR tracks in a different state, they don't have to make plane reservations, go through TSA screening, or pay for checked baggage.)
It's common to see them in certain places on dates which are important to them, just as we, on every anniversary, go to the restaurant where we proposed. It's perfectly natural to want to revisit your old haunts.
It's obvious they're not tied to the place they died (if they were, every operating room would be overflowing with ghosts).
(Do I believe in ghosts? I'd say I don't disbelieve. I've experienced a few things I'm not comfortable assigning to wind gusts or dreams.)
