Haunting to be sure but I'd make them closer to xylophones than drums.

The wife (native speaker of Greek) agrees, they're xylophones. That's "xylo" for wood and "phone" for sound.

that was my first thought as well expat, it sounds much moer like a xylophone than any kind of drum.
