When it started I thought it was going to be a remake of The Sand Pebbles.

I couldn't make out a copyright date but the look places it among the earliest sound cartoons of the early '30's. Times were different then.

I'd put it a bit later; like the end of the decade. There wasn't any singing and/or chorus lines but the limbs were still rubbery and the voices weren't evolved from squeeky falsetto.

I stand corrected! The Van Beuren Studio closed down in '36 and Chinese Jinks is from '32.
