DNA

A 1991 Federal Way, Washington murder may be solved by DNA comparison with genealogy data bases. The DNA left at the scene by the perpetrator has been matched to a Massachusetts family from the 1630s. At least it gives police a place to start with a likely family name to trace. What a brilliant idea to run the comparisons.

This was a great idea to run against genealogy data bases where there is DNA evidence in cold cases. I hope it helps catch the bastard.

I've got to agree with FBS and PoP, this sounds more like the basis for a novel or documentary than serious police work.

It would be MUCH more effective to just allow the government DNA
database (CODIS)to do a search for a relative(dad bro ect)as the apple don't fall far from the tree. But that is currently against
the law for some reason, maybe fear of "big brother" maybe fear of the ACLU!!! :coolmad:

@ Trevon White, that makes NO sense as the FBI fingerprint data base contains fingerprints of MANY MANY people never even ACCUSED
of a crime, such as ALL veterans of and applicants to the military, Anyone who has ever applied for a gov. security clearance, law enforcement job of ANY kind or to be bonded! just to name the first to come to mind.
Also ALL recent vets have given(had taken) DNA samples to help identify the remains of personnel who become FUBAR*
FUBAR= F'd Up Beyond All Recognition.
