Dry Gulch Chupacabra

Chupacabra is apparently Spanish for 'hairless raccoon'. At least that's what the animal is that people in Adair, Oklahoma were calling the 'dry gulch chupacabra'. Jeremy Scheffel, who lives in Adair, saw the pictured animal on his porch one night. He and a friend set a live trap and caught it then turned it over to Wild Heart Ranch Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation in Claremont, OK. The folks at the ranch discovered that the mystery animal was a female raccoon suffering from severe mange. They say she will grow her fur back as she recovers and will then look much more like what she is, a raccoon.
