When in college and having my hair cut from waist-length to very short, the stylist pulled my hair back and looked at my ears before agreeing to do as I asked. Thinking it odd, I asked why and learned that when in beauty school, the first person whom he had to cut asked for a similar hairstyle and as he cut the first side, both of them realized that Dumbo ears hid beneath the long tresses. After the client burst out in tears, cussed him out, and demanded that he "put it back (!)," he learned an important lesson that was not taught in any of the classes he had taken. (My ears passed inspection and I was able to get my desired short haircut.)

The obvious solution to 'dumbo ears' for you girls is a bewb job. (New spelling but the spell checker seems to like it Ok.)
