FedEx Boxes

Artist Walead Beshty has created a series of works consisting of glass boxes cracked during shipping. He creates them by making shatterproof laminated glass boxes and then shipping them via FedEx in standard cardboard boxes, with no additional padding. He displays the resulting cracked glass box on top of the FedEx box it was shipped in. He explains:

All artworks have this limit built into them, a time when the transport of the work would risk its destruction. In the case of the FedEx boxes, it's just more palpable; it's on its surface.
