That's about what everybody was pushing back then for sports coupes. The Ford Capri, Opel Kadet, etc. all had about the same lines.

I owned a BRAT for nearly 15 years. It held up amazingly well and I put nearly 240,000 miles on the clock. Near the end I bought a replacement engine to replace the original.

A girlfriend had one of these sedans, a few years later with a 1.6L engine. I found it nimble to drive and while not a powerhouse engine (like the ad copy would have you believe) it would reach 70 to 75 MPH without running out of breath.

And now, a verse from the unofficial salute to owning a Subaru:

"You say that something's pinching at your feet

All this time they must have been beneath the seat."

Having driven a GL for many years... The word "coupe" is such a strong word to describe this hatchback.
