Follies of the Madmen #285

Wait a minute--I'm confused by the graphics. Does this product come from outer space?

I'm wondering about the self-timing. Does it beep after fifteen minutes?

Don't be silly, BJ. Back then, it would have rung or chimed like a clockwork kitchen timer. Although Paul's outer space neutralizing idea is reasonable: that meteor 65,000,000 years ago neutralized most of the life on Earth, after all.

I've never understood why people think curled hair is something they need. My hair has a natural curl to and was torture when I wore it very long as a youth. Tried straightening it one time and that turned out to be a disaster what with all the chemicals used. I wear it shorter now so as to have some semblance of respectability.

It appears that many people aren't happy with the hair they have. I used to work with a woman who had long straight hair. Or so I thought. Turned out she had naturally curly hair but her sister had naturally straight hair and for some reason she wanted to look like her, so she paid to have her hair straightened.

It's always seemed to me these type hair-dos ought to be called something else -- for example, a "temporary" -- because they clearly aren't ever permanent.

I use a blow dryer but I have neither the time or patience to curl my hair. It is what it is.
