A pretty obvious reference to addictiveness, three decades before it was proved.

My parents smoked (a habit I never picked up) and my father smoked Camels & Lucky Strikes. Those two brands - both without filters - were very potent. I imagine folks would get a buzz, in addition to the addictiveness of these 2 brands.
