Forgetful Snow

Melinda Ring is trying to raise $13,000 on KickStarter so that she can stage her dance project, Forgetful Snow.

It's one of those things where it's kinda hard to tell if it's real or satire. But my gut instinct tells me it's for real. Of course, I have no knowledge of contemporary dance, so a more discerning viewer might instantly recognize this as a masterpiece.

The video is safe for work, despite the video thumbnail showing a hint of skin.

No, Alex, I think you've found a genuine example of ART!

Dance does nothing for me. One could just as well dance about architecture.

To have any chance at success the "dancers" need to be like in the thumbnail picture at all times.

This has to be a joke. But, if not, with the right "buds", I'm pretty sure I can do the same for only $10,000.00.

All dance is weird, but that doesn't mean it isn't serious.

I agree 110%, DD, some of it is SERIOUSLY WEIRD!

Yep, like dancing en pointe. Yet a very acceptable form of dance.

Back in elementary school, we had the kids in the special ed room that acted like that for free.

My daughter is a dancer in NYC, and I will attest to the authenticity of this production. Not because I know it, or the producer, or any of the dancers, but because I have seen enough of this kind of nonsense to recognize it. These women are deadly serious about all of their clutzy-looking movements. It's as though dancing gracefully is passe, anymore. To be really artistic, you have to flail around as though you're having some sort of seizure. Sadly, this is typical of modern dance, now.

This would qualify for the old SNL segment by Leonard Pinth Garnel, under "Bad Dance". THIS IS YOUR DANCE ON DRUGS!

At 2:21 the dancer missed a step! She flailed her arm randomly in a counter-clockwise direction when she should have stood on her head and farted.

"Kick turn two three! Kick turn! It's so depressing!"

It's no Twyla Tharp but hey, you never know.

I agree with Mr. Evilwrench, free play during Special Ed.
