Mumbai perhaps wasn't randomly chosen as a terror target among Westernized cities
The Times of India reported that in Mumbai (population 50 percent greater than New York City's), law enforcement owns a total of 577 guns and that many cops authorized to carry them have never fired once, even in practice. (Target-shooting is hard because there are no police firing ranges; if a cop wants to shoot, he has to book time at a private range. And besides, ammunition is scarce, so it kinda defeats the purpose to target-shoot it all away.) The Times of India

What scares me is that this may have just been a "practice run" for the terrorists. It doesn't sound like there was much risk to them.

I actually do know that, but at the same time, it took HOW many hours to bring them down? How long was the standoff at the Taj hotel?

They attacked a hugely populated city with a relatively untrained police force. And even though the actual attackers were killed/captured, the people BEHIND the attack are still at large, planning who knows what?

We all know there were "practice runs" for the attacks on America. Who's to say this wasn't a "practice run" for another, larger scale attack on another large Westernized city?

In defense of Andy and Barney, they did have more guns. They just kept them locked up in a gun cabinet. Great show! At least the early years before Barney left.

Gary, attacks like these are horribly wrong, and they are cowardly. Why can't they be both? They are wrong because they terrorize innocent people and destroy innocent lives, and they are cowardly because they attack a group of people who have no means to fight back. Remember, the people who commited this atrocity arent the ones we are calling cowards, we are calling the people who planned it cowards. Which brings to mind a simple question, if being a martyr in the name of your cause is such a good thing, why don't the leaders of these terrorist groups carry out the missions that they plan?

Perhaps they should be issued canes, as did the British, who gave canes to the colonial police.
