Hard to say goodnight

1969 ad for Harris Slacks. Back in the 1960s, women evidently found plaid high waters to be irresistible.

I was taught that your clothing should send a message, You know the clothes make the man, like that.
I think those pants send a couple of messages.
1. Do NOT adjust your set, We are experiencing technical difficulties!
2. Somewhere there is a VW rabbit with no seat covers!

If you're old enough to remember when this type of garment was called "slacks," then you're old! I used the term with one of my students, who had no idea what I was talking about. Same with "trousers," except for the one little 4 year old guy I taught who was from Ireland and who noticed a dot of marker ink on his pant leg and said, "Oh no! I've got a spot on me trousers!" So cute with his accent..

Of course there is Les Nessman who made disparaging remarks about dungarees.

I never would allow myself to be caught, even dead in plaid trousers. But if I had known at the time such pants would get me the attention of the ladies I might have worn then. She seems to have lustful intentions...

IIRC, back in 1960 that stuff was all over the place but if I wore it it would have been only a shirt.

In the 'getting girls' department... whatever it took/takes/will take/ever took, etc.

Daughter: Mom, what do men consider foreplay?
Mother: "Yes" usually suffices.
