Henri Gugelmann’s Rat Circus
In 1979, when Henri Gugelmann debuted his "rat circus" in downtown Bern, he claimed it was the first of its kind in the world. And maybe it was also the last, because I don't know where one would go today to see performing rats.
His trained rats jumped over ropes, ran through burning rings, and crawled along in a "rat race" while Gugelmann, dressed as a clown, directed the show. That sounds like quality entertainment! [Google News: Victoria Advocate, Aug 9, 1979]

Back in '71 we bought a poodle pup from a friend/breeder who was very proud of her dogs because they could stand on their hind legs and patty-cake. 40+ years later that 'trick' doesn't even count. Evilution!

Heini (not Henri) Gugelmann is still out and about with his "Circus Maus". I saw him as a child back in the 80s in Switzerland and was completely blown away. He debuted in 1972 already, according to his website. http://www.circusmaus.ch/

there is a working rat circus and scarborough renaissance faire near dallas texas. she is a friend of mine and calls her act cirque de sewer!

I think this trick is a once in a lifetime chance to train to pesky rats in doing that difficult trick
