Henry Ford’s Soybean Suit

One of Henry Ford's lesser known accomplishments was that he had his researchers create for him the world's first suit made out of soybeans. He's shown here modeling it in 1941. Reportedly it was very itchy.

Were ALL of Mr. Ford's garments made of soybean fiber? That would make for one pair of really itchy undies.

I bet Mr. Ford has long johns under his suit. That's why he's still smiling, and maybe it's the origin of the "shirt collar over the vest collar" fashion.
