The Human Bellows

Not much info seems to remain about Art Hubell and his sideshow act. Except for this one picture. I wonder how he discovered he had this talent. [via Flickr]

Ah... he slipped and fell on an air hose down at the local gas station?

Oh, no, Expat. That's the excuse given at emergency for foreign objects stuck in the bum.

My thought about this was, "What goes in must come out." I wouldn't want to follow too closely behind this guy while walking down the street. 🐛

Wait wait wait ... 40 to 60 _pounds_ of air? That can't possibly be right. They must mean air at 40 PSI to 60 PSI. Even so, yikes.

Why would anyone do that????

Per cubic foot, air at 70 F and 40 PSIG weighs 0.279 LBs. Anyone who has put air into a car tire can say that the human body can't take a 40 PSIG DIFFERANCE. I have never scuba dived, so 40 psi outside balances the 40 inside. YES?

Yes I am bored and thinking. Bad news. My math is going to be lazy, 😊

His stomach is 12"x12"~100.
@ 60 LB PSIG ... 60x100=3 tons.The weight on a loaded gravel truck's front tires.

Did I mention my lazy math?
