Richard Thomas broke into a woman's home last July and raped her then left. He was caught and prosecuted and took a plea bargain, then he got the bad news. The woman he raped has HIV and by raping her he exposed himself to the disease. He is now waiting for test results to see if his sentence will be more severe than the 5 years 4 months he is going to spend in jail.

If he's got it, give him a penisectomy and turn him loose. Why should tax payers pay for his meds?

"Jailing him for five years four months Judge Mark Brown said that he had committed "this dreadful offence" while she lay asleep, having taken a sleeping tablet, and left her distressed and anxious."
I can't imagine the judge would have used those words -- "distressed and anxious" like a student facing a final exam. The editor should change jobs.
Let's hope the perp doesn't file a suit for transmission of a deadly communicable disease.
