In Oregon, Tremayne Durham, charged with capital murder, bargained a life sentence with no appeal and . . and . . a buffet of KFC, Popeyes, Haagen Dazs, and carrot cake (and in August, when the actual sentencing is done, pizza and more ice cream). (Fast food is much cheaper than challenging death-row appeals.) And Christopher Emmett was executed in Virginia, but left 'em laughing: "[T]ell the governor he just lost my vote.
