Liquid Nitrogen

image
Gaby Scanlon just wanted to have a good time on her 18th birthday. Since she lives in England she went to a wine bar with friends and ordered a cool looking drink that was prepared with liquid nitrogen to give it a steaming effect. But she consumed it too soon, before the chemical could completely dissipate. She began having severe stomach pains and was taken to the hospital where her stomach had to be removed due to the damage done by the liquid nitrogen she accidentally consumed. Some novelties are just not worth the risk.

Wow, why even allow that stuff to be used with food or drink. The novelty is not worth it.

I'm still trying to get my mind around a wine bar having liquid nitrogen, never mind the damage done to this poor woman.

That's a chilling story!

Promote worms for safe drinking!

Tequila is ok, vodka is my drink, but never the worm! YUCK!!!

Sad.
Would the girl have been any smarter if she was legally allied to drink at age 21?
How is she going to live without a stomach? Feeding tubes?
Sad.

They said she would have to have a special diet and vitamin shots but that she would be ok.

Here is a case where there is a stupid gene at work and it should not be allowed to propagate.. The girl's stomach should not have been the only thing removed.

Any minute now, there will be a line forming for doing this as the latest fad dieting method. Hollywood will be abuzz!

Well, they've got the aptitude and intelligence for it.

Can't help thinking we're missing a part of the story. How come there is nothing about any injury to her mouth and esophagus? The cold stuff would have had to go through those first.
