Minor Side Effect

William McKee began taking finesteride, the generic for Propicia, in October of 2008. By May of 2010 he was divorcing his wife of 10 years because his body had taken on the characteristics of a woman and he had become attracted to men. For a full description of the transformation go here. As of December 2011 Mandi McKee is in therapy to help her transition into living as a woman full time. Apparently, she is not the only man to complain of sexual changes while taking the drug either. As far as side effects go, I gotta say, that one is a doosie!

Oops! I think I'd have quit the drug as soon as any changes manifested, but that's just me.

>>the courts do not permit lawsuits from those who took the generic version, and so McKee is unable to take legal action, according to MSN. Nonetheless, McKee has stated that she is planning to sue Merck for $1 billion.

Obviously the sex change hasn't improved her mental acuity.

You may be able to get me to believe a case of manamrys or smoother skin but did this stuff really turn his dinky into a hoo-ha?

Ooooh, he's pretty, if you like the blonde bimbo look.

Have you looked at the warnings for the chemical? "Women should not handle and should wash hands immediately after exposure."

What would happen if this was available over the counter for cheap? Would there be a run on by fifteen y.o. boys who want their own set of breast to fondle?

Well at least it cured her baldness, which was the original purpose. Some bald guys are so desperate, they wouldn't care if the warning label included, 'May cause unexpected hormonal changes'.

Thing is that it didn't cure his baldness, he/she is wearing a wig.

Oops, yer right, Mark - and her blog says it didn't do anything for the baldness. It also says that he incurred skeletal changes, such as drooping and softening of shoulders (a shrinking clavicle?) and widening of the hips/pelvis. This is impossible. Transsexuals retain their original frames, always - I'm calling hoax.

I guess they need to change the warning label to "Don't use if you have boobs or are a boob."

Danny53, I think you're dead-on with that!

OK,I'm a little freaked out right now! I've been taking 5mg per day of Finasteride to treat BPH (enlarged prostate)for almost 2 years! If you read Mandi's blog that's 5 times her dose for more than twice as long!
No Breasts yet, sure hope I don't have to change my handle,Tyrusgal doesn't have the same ring to it.
Hope my other "handle" doesn't change, I'm kinda attached to it! :gulp:

Tyrusguy, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Obviously, the reason women aren't supposed to take or handle Propecia, is because it contains MALE hormones, not female, with us being the typically hairier gender. I think the whole article is a hoax, actually.

@Tyrusguy: How many glasses of Ocean Spray cranberry juice do you drink in a day?
Posted by Expat47 in Athens, Greece on 07/24/12 at 10:25 PM
Maybe there were some effects but he/she is certainly exaggerating to try and get some money out of Merck. The lawsuit set all hope for a pay off to make them go away rather than an actual trial anyway. Tyrusguy your voice is waaaay too deep for you to worry at all honey.
