Copa = Copacabana (at one time, the hottest nightclub in NYC)
kicking squad = chorus line (think Rockettes)
given the palm = won a prize/award (think Palme d'Or)
kicking squad = chorus line (think Rockettes)
given the palm = won a prize/award (think Palme d'Or)
