My Excellent South American Adventure

Despite my daily posts last week, I was really among the missing. I spent from the 20th to the 27th (counting travel time) in Medellin, Colombia, being a guest speaker at this conference.

But now I'm home, and have read all the posts and comments from the past week, and just want to say a big thanks to Alex and Chuck and all the witty, talented WU-vies who make this site so wonderful.

Here are two fotos from my trip.

Salsa dancers working up a sweat to advertise something at EIGHT IN THE MORNING! I was ready to buy anything the ladies offered.

Paul, I gotta ask. My vacations have been to France over the last five years. As a youngster my parents took us to Mexico. I remember and notice that the two countries have odors about them. Not meant in a bad way, just different. French supermarkets have an actual food smell about them. How was Colombia?

KDP--indeed, the whole city was suffused with a unique odor--or blend of odors--that I had never encountered before. Part of it had to be from the innumerable flowering trees.

I hope you had a wonderful vacation sweetie. I'd have loved to have listened to your presentation, if it was in English so I could understand it anyway. 😊

Patty--my talk might end up online, and in English, of course. I'll let you know.

The monkey is thinking "Ack! When did I become a 2 dimensional painting on this wall?!"

Cool photos!
1. I suspect the dancers were still going strong at 8AM, after a full night of dancing. It happens...
2. Looks like "beware of the monkeys" to me. I heard they are very clever and can open backpacks, get into purses, etc and have a fondness for keys and cell phones (not loose coins, or gum wrappers....)
Sounds like you had a great time!
