Radio Waves, now being used to create jets of plasma, matter so hot all the electrons are stripped away from the atoms. I'd guess this didn't get quite that hot.

I recognized it. I was treated (in the eighties) with such a machine. It was supposed to help develop extra cartilage in my bad knees. I think it did work (I can ride a bike nowadays).

The problems were with my _knees_, so yeah, I grew the 'normal amount of hair on my palms' as a teenager.
