There's a grey hound on the poster. Maybe the bus line?
Hey, finally got one right. It must have been too easy.

Me too. I saw the puppy and figured it out.

Diver: Dude, like, anything coming from your way?
Dude: Nothin' but a big ole dog.

There´s a Greyhound Bus logo at the top so....groovy summer clothes?

I thought you people were crazy -- I searched the image for a good two minutes but couldn't see a greyhound. A fish, some bats, and a mushroom, yes, but no dog. Finally found the tiny little thing. You guys must have good eyes.

My guess would have been a summer reading program. The mountains, sea, forest, and city suggesting all the places books can take you. I guess it's the same basic concept, but with books, you don't have to put up with sticky seats, idiots sitting next to you, or diesel-exhaust fumes.

Typical pop culture advertising for that era. Notice that advertising agents still think that placing a French word or two in an advert makes it sound sophisticated. Nice try for selling something as pedantic as bus service.

For some reason my mind went right to Soul Train.

Damn, and I was all ready to buy those Bell-Bottom pants. Psychedelic, baby!

@Phideaux: I found the 'bats' and fish but no mushrooms. Did you happen to see the phallus and cell phone?

@Expat 47 -- I guess I have to come clean. Never trust the last element whenever I list three things: it's possibly something I made up just to reach the magical number of 3 (it's a staple in writing that three items carries much more weight with the reader than just one or two). 😊

It also plays to a basic tenet of my personal philosophy. This aspect usually manifests itself in the concept that women can feel safe with me because I know that messing around with their bodies provides only a momentary pleasure but if I screw with their mind, it's forever.

Anyone check out the next page? A long distance rate chart. Makes me appreciate my cell phone even more. 70 cents to $1.35 for three minutes, direct dialed. WOW! Average hourly wage was somewhere around $3.65.

@Puptentacle: I pay €5 a month so I can talk to over 30 countries for as long as I like but, to talk to local cell phones for over 1 hour a month I've got to cough up more dough. (go figure)

When I saw the greyhound logo, I first thought of the bus line, then deodorant, and finally, whatever that stuff is that morticians apply under their nostrils to kill the smell of decomposing bodies.
