@PupTentacle -- That shouldn't be surprising. They all loved and were influenced by jazz. Robert Plant and John Bonham were into Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich; Jimmy Page doted on Django Reinhardt; John Paul Jones played with Jet Harris & Tony Meehan, doing a lot of mainstream jazz.

@Phideaux What is interesting to me is that a promoter (Bill Graham in this case) would book that as a double bill. That would NEVER happen today. Things were a lot more open back then.

I went to page 36 to read the complete article. Although it's about a unique candy store and the man who owns and runs it, the story is also a great snapshot of what it was like to be alive during that time. Thanks for finding and posting this, Paul.
