Well, it didn't have anything to do with the green room at that last debate.

Nope! Nor was it on a couple of other sites!

I'd never have guessed it, especially since it is such a poor diet for a zoo animal. Also, what's with the glove and shoelace??

One of the marketing ploys by Tilley Hats was to indicate the durability of their hats by reporting that one had survived multiple trips through an elephant (http://www.brandsonly.com/testimonials.html). Just make sure you wash it really well if that is the fate of your hat.

Wear the hat and you'd be a shithead!

There's a company in Pennsylvania that makes paper products (notepads, business cards, greeting cards, etc.) from paper that is 70% post consumer paper and 30% fiber from elephant dung. I ran across them at an environmental conference. The paper has a rough texture. See mrelliepooh.com.

I thought for sure it was the contents of our freezer in the basement. We just cleaned it out last weekend. As for the glove and shoelace, Patty in Ohio - Michael Jackson visited that zoo once.

LOL! I'd have thought he'd give his glove to the monkeys.

Well, the sweets were probably given him by an uninformed audience. I think nobody except a child would nowadays give toffee to an elephant, and the zoo certainly wouldn't allow it, but back in th e50s and 60s, what did the public know about how to treat a zoo elephant? Even the zoos themselves knew barely anything about their proper diets.
As for the glove, I bet he nicked that off a visitor who was trying to pet him.
