Misdirected Mosques - Does the prayer energy dissipate when you pray in the wrong direction? I sound glib, sure, but I don't understand the basis for directional prayer emission.

Hummer on a Plane - Can you blame the guy? She's hideous (as cover girls go).

Florida's Shame - We've known this for years, lady detective.

US Aid - $50,000? Wow! With that much money, they'll have enough left over to straighten the tower of Pisa, and rebuild the Coliseum!

Love's Lost Art - Bah ha ha ha ha ha! I'm glad that the world is rid of another piece of pretentious "art".

misdirected mosques - I thought they were supposed to point towards Mecca. If they are IN Mecca, do they have to point straight up, since Mohammed ascended to Heaven there?

Arkansas funeral - You might be a redneck if you bring a beer to a funeral; you ARE a redneck if you start a bar brawl at a funeral.

Mile high hummer - that dude must have huge nads to try that.

Florida's embarassment - I could make a list. I'm sure Chuck could too. Exhibit A: half of the daily jury duty entries.

Italy Aid - If they wanted the U.S. to give them money, they should have claimed the earthquake caused all the banks to go belly up.

Courtney Love's dead bird - Should we chip in to buy her a carbon monoxide detector?

Funeral Beer Just good ol' Christian hospitality.

Lincoln, NB 1st of all, what are you supposed to wear when baby-sitting? Then, what is "driving under suspicion" and can a "low speed chase" be considered "fleeing from arrest"?

Hummers One must take them as they come for you can never makeup for one lost.

Ferrari $115k work on a Ferrari is something like a tune up, isn't it?

$50,000 So, just how much was the Vatican going to send?

Expletives How come he didn't count "@#$#$@#$"?

Courtney Love For only $100 + S&H;I can offer you a dead bird in a matchbox whenever you want.

Murph- According to that infallible Wikipedia article, they did offer aid (It's got a citation so it must be true!). Just not financial. Don't know how much it's worth.

Of course, the quake just happened, so more aid could be forthcoming if needed.

"In any case, it does not affect the prayers."

No it doesn't affect the prayers. The prayers are still a major waste of time and do not even begin to measure up to to action. Which is what I think was the thought behind Ben Franklin's quote, "God help those who help themselves".

Arkansas funeral
Beer in hand is a common feature for alot of funerals down here in the south. What's the problem with that? I hope everyone who attends my funeral will get rip-roaring drunk and cause all kinds of raucous.

mile high hummer
This guy needed the BJ. He apparently has the largest balls around.

boss's Ferrari
The boss just asked for this. He must be an idiot to lend his car (regardless of make/model) to a 23 yr. old. Of course he's the boss which usually means a full frontal lobotomy was already performed on him.

"Focus on the Family"
The Lord works in mysterious ways. Of course, right wing bible thumpers are very predictable.

Thanks for that Dumbfounded. I took the quote from Poor Richards' Almanac but Franklin apparently borrowed it himself. I still think his thought was stop praying and get busy.

Arkansas funeral  Well of course she was turned away! Everyone knows that a funeral is a dress-up occasion and you should bring a bottle of beer with you, not a can.
