phantom limb

The "phantom limb" sensation among amputees (they feel like that arm's still there) applies to dickectomies, too
Neuroscientists have known for years that after amputation of an arm or leg or finger, it takes the brain a while to rewire the new configuration, so amputees report still feeling like the limb is still there. Now, doctors report that this 52-yr-old woman, who was just recently a 52-yr-old man, continues to think she's getting erections. Neurotopia via ScienceBlogs.com

See that Jules. You join in late one day and you're dropped off the rollcall.

I wonder if these removed items get recycled into "the Accommodator".

Geez miss one day and no one likes me anymore! Okay Expat47, you can explain to my boss why I can't get any work done anymore.

As a husband of close to 40 years I know there is nothing I can say at this point that will get me off the hook so please accept my apologies.

So, Jules, what's up with this anyhow?

Well Expat47 (you're forgiven) having never had a penis of my very own I really wouldn't know what thats like. A first guess is that his/her brain has been wired for 52 years to perceive arousal a certain way and s/he hasn't gotten accustomed to the difference yet. Also, if I'm recalling correctly I believe the clitoris is a form of erectile tissue so technically s/he could still be having tiny little, annoyingly hard to find, erections.

I had a toenail removed years ago. I swear I can still feel it sometimes.
