Pop Carter

This is Otto "Pop" Carter, 90 years old, in 1947. He was known as "America's oldest and best-known roller skater." At his advanced age, he had been a professional roller skater for 82 years. But even after this he kept on going for quite a while. According to his listing on IMDB, "At age 104, participated in the Southwest Pacific Roller Skating Championships and the Rollerama Show in 1960."

I don't know when he died. Perhaps he's still alive.

He reminds me of 'Jack Rabbit' Johansson who cross country skied until he was 104 and died at 107.

Some old farts just don't have the sense God gave a goose to know when it's high time to just lay down and die.

Roll on, Pop!

Good for Pop Carter! I worked in a large warehouse where we wore skates to move around with some speed while filling orders of small auto parts. I swear that it helped my ski skills.

Anyone who skates at that age better be good because if he goes down there goes a hip! KDP the warehouse thing must have been a while ago because I am betting no business would risk the liability today.
