Porcupine-1 Pit Bull- 0
This pit bull fought a porcupine and the porcupine won, After sedating the dog a vet removed 1,347 quills from it. The dog survived, perhaps a little worse for the wear, but perhaps a little wiser as well. Unfortunately no further information was given about the dog, or the porcupine either for that matter.

And if you look closely at Snopes you'll see it bills itself as the "Urban Legends Reference Site," your point? I said the picture is not a hoax (according to a couple of usually reliable sources), not that it isn't a legend.

Patty has posted a story and I have provided two sources for it, while you have posted allegations of falsehood backed up by your opinion. Ok, let's give jonny all of it. From the About.com:Urban Legends page (which you can read here) - Emailed images show the result of an unfortunate encounter between a 'pit bull' and a porcupine.
The status of the legend is listed as Authentic (Snopes also lists the status as True), even though the dog is not a pit bull. It's a bull terrier. That's the only false information given and they call it a mislabel. The photos (there's two) were originally posted online, on the Citytv Community Board, in May of 2005, by the dog's owner. He followed up his post in July with an update of the dog's condition.
As he posted on a citytv board, he must live in Canada (Citytv™ television stations in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg offer viewers intensely-local, urban-oriented, culturally-diverse television programming). The stations provide community boards for their viewers.
And if that's not enough, here is the original post, from the citytv archive.
