Radiological Defense

Much of what we define today as "weird" looks to be weird simply because the context that surrounded its creation is no longer in place. As famously said, "The past is another country," and we all know that stuff that happens in other countries is quite often weird.

Once upon a time--in 1961--the staged documentary featured here seemed like the most sober-sided, commonsense bit of educational material. But now--

Big Gary--excellent exegesis on that film, sir! Granted, its sober and fairly accurate presentation is not as weird as other artifiacts of this period.

I'm at least as old as you, but for some reason my primary school did not feature "duck and cover" drills. At least not that I recall. Maybe our town was too prole.

Kevin--New England, my home region, would've been totally irradiated just from proximity to NYC and various military bases. A weird feeling indeed.

Good guess about "cube video" complaint. Odd formatting, yes.
