unfortunately, this sort of thing is not all that surprising. I have family down in the Ozarks in MO, and one of the things I learned from the people around there is that there's a long history in the region (including places like Arkansas, which isn't that far, honestly) of people responding to slights with violence. We have the history of the Hatfields and McCoys, which have been portrayed in far more books than merely Mr Clemmon's. It's really sad to see how many people think that they have to retaliate for wrongs, because far too much is thrown into chaos by ever-escalating 'revenge'.

Nicotine addiction was involved. Glad the coffin nails have fallen out of favor with the public since the advertising was stopped.

The guy who blew out the match had good intentions. He wanted to save the other guy from smoking-related illness.
