Most of the hate aimed at disco comes from homophobes and racists, because disco was a gay music scene; hence the "Disco SUCKS" campaign, which alluded to the act of oral sex. I doubt there is anything weird about the above piece of music, but it is still culturally acceptable to bash disco, which I don't find particularly acceptable as it leads me to think that it stems from the old homophobic and racist reasons.

Nope, it was just bad music. No nasal twang, no steel guitars, way too much thumpety-thump-thump, and you couldn't sell enough beer with all that racket going on.
