Snappy The Orange Crocodile

Snappy lived up to his name and snapped the filter in the water in his habitat. This allowed algae growth which apparently turned Snappy orange. This is the same reason flamingos are pink, they eat algae and it colors their feathers. With a new filter in place he is expected to return to his normal green color. Good thing Snappy doesn't live in Ireland or he could have found himself a little trouble.

There are people who already think Halloween is a "croc". LOL

@patty

Actually flamingos will lose their pink color if they don't feed on shrimp. It is the same chemical colorant that turns shrimp pink when they cook that gives a flamingo it's pink color.

I've had 'gator and there wasn't much bang for the buck. A very delicate flavor (flavour for our visiting Brits) almost lost in any seasoning used.

Here is a LINK to a web page with a video of Snappy.

"It's a collector's item now. Everyone will want one. I should have put him on eBay."

Thanks for the clip Yogi. Orange or green, his teeth are still white and sharp. I doubt there'd be too many takers.

And who can forget the crocodile scenes from "Romancing The Stone"?
