Perhaps the most sad thing about the article, and it is sad, is that you're unlikely to see such wonderfully accurate and elegant wording in things written today. The fact that it used the term paroxysm, which I imagine many people my own age and younger don't know, and clearly used proper grammar within the rest of the article reminds me of a time which speaking and writing clearly were common. Unfortunately, those times seem to be long gone.

Yes, but the punctuation shows it wasn't proofread. "Derry rd, Hudson" should be "Derry Rd., Hudson." I'm assuming that the comma-like thing after Derry is an artifact of poor reproduction.
