Original ad here.

Isn't this the exact ad that pimps today use to trick women into becoming "escorts" on Craigslist?

What exactly was the purpose of the Clover Club? Answer after the jump.

The women were being asked to sell subscriptions to The Delineator magazine.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words but here there are a thousand words before you even get a glimpse of the picture.

A lot of verbiage for very little. You just know the "secretary" was paid a quarter cent per word.

The "Adventure" magazine reminds some of the parodies done by the National Lampoon.

I just googled Delineator magazine and found this fascinating piece. The magazine was published by Ebenezer Butterick, the man who invented sewing patterns. It started out as a fashion magazine, but had a social conscience under he editorship of Theodore Dreiser.

Nothing like a "double spoon" between a wife and a female WUvian .. Oops !! Now I'm in trouble when she reads this and calls me back tonight. Hey just cuddle hugs. Seemed today's post themes were all spoon related.

Your wife on one side, you, the bedroom wall, me, and then my hubby. It was great! 😊
