[news videos goin' around]
snapshots from 15 of the world's most bizarre themed restaurants (only 5 of which ever made News of the Weird) (with favorites including the one where all the seats are toilets and the one where the food arrives in a, uh, cadaver, and you have to, like, do an autopsy to get at it. I love strange and unique restaurants. I would very much eat at any one of these establishments. The food may not be great, but I would always be able to say I ate out of a body or while sitting on a toilet! :coolsmirk:

Big Gary - the fondue place is a national chain (The Melting Pot) and it is REALLY good. Expensive yes, so its a place to go on vacation or for an occassion. When I first heard of it I thought it sounded ridiculous but after eating there I go back whenever I can find one!

the Pitch-Black restaurant...there was a CSI (Vegas) episode in one of those!

I stand (sit) corrected, I was in Houston then, not Dallas. The wait staff at The Melting Pot make the fondue at your table for you. You choose how its made and what to dip in it. The appetizer fondue is cheese based, dinner is a variety of things, and dessert is chocolate based. Sounds stupid I know, but it is incredibly tasty.

"I think a bidet that randomly fired off would make for a more interesting dining experience."

LOL 😊

Big Gary - I know I can eat ona toilet at home. I can also just eat at home, but isn't the fun of it going out.

The only real themed restaurant I've been to is The Jekyll and Hyde Club in NY. Nothing like eating in a 'haunted' mansion where the wall paintings and statues talk to you during your meal.

Jekyll & Hyde Club was a great place! Not there anymore though.

The toilet themed restaurant is featured in an article in my kitchen at school (studying to be a pastry chef.) The picture in the article showed someone eating out of a small toilet.

I wonder if the Vampire Club has one of my favorite drinks, first sampled in Joe's Pub in NYC. It's called a Lady Macbeth - equal parts (I'm assuming) red port and champagne, and it's blood red.

I loved the Jekyll & Hyde car that would drive around midtown. It's not there anymore? Bummer...

And Big Gary - There was also (at least) one "men's only" club that was shaped like a Japanese subway car. The women would dress up like schoolgirls and let men feel them up. Having had that done to me for real on the NYC subway, I can't think of a creepier way to help get a man off.

OK, yes I can, get your mind out of the gutter.
