This Can Happen To You!

If you frequently drive on rooftops.

It's 2012! Where's my flying car?!?

On second thoughts, given how much trouble folks get into already without the added dimension, maybe it's not such a bad thing they don't exist yet.

The claim about the increase in damage by hitting another car head on was proven false on Mythbusters a season or two ago. Quite a different outcome than one would expect.

BTW, tomorrow's cars will be factory equipped with a para-sail for your safety. This may increase the sticker price of the car but, as the para-sail will be woven from corn silk, it will be considered a "green job" and you'll be eligible for tax credits unless you're annual income is over $200,000 in which case you'll be given the opportunity to pay an extra 20% to assist those who are unable to pay their cell phone bills.

Yeah well Mythbuster's "science" is often sketchy. Having survived a city speed head-on colision, there was little left of the car that wasn't crushed when they they had to cut it open like a tin can to get me out of. And were VERY surprised to find me alive.

Hasn't everyone ended up with their car parked in strange places after a wild night out? I know I have. Woke up one morning parked under one of the piers on the San Francisco waterfront - not easy to do even when you're sober.

I'm just still glad we still own older cars without the "big brother" recording devices that are now in them. People don't realize it's there until your insurance or the other parties asks for the data.

Black boxes work both ways, BrokeDad... they can either get you into more trouble or help bail you out

Also, That car in the pic doesn't look like it has crumple zones... but even so, I reckon asphalt is a lot less forgiving then another car.

Even without crumple zones, two cars crashing at 30mph each is less violent the a car at 60mph hitting a brick wall. I saw this in a documentary on crash testing but can't find a reference. If my math is right, the speed of the car falling 90' (9 stories)is 51.9mph taking 2.364 seconds for your life to flash by.

What a boring 2.364 seconds... Can't I just have a movie flash by instead?... it would be much more entertaining

I don't want to remember all those mistakes!

Bah! You just wait to the last moment then step out of the car to safety. I've seen Bugs Bunny do it dozens of times!

I tried that once, didn't quite make it though and ended up looking like this!

Wow, Popeye aged horribly, note to self, STOP EATING SPINACH!
Posted by Patty in Ohio, USA on 06/12/12 at 11:45 AM
You might want to rethink that, Patty... Popeye looks pretty good and mobile for being middle aged 93 years ago

Interesting read about safe driving, especially using hand signals pointing with your finger (NO, not that one!) your intentions. Then using the clutch. CLUTCH?? Didn't that go out with Henry Fords tin lizzie 😛 ?

Oh now I get it FBS! The above is Popeye's Dorian Grey Picture!

My Grandpa grew up in a time when "clutch" referred to a hen's week worth of work and then here comes some Iowa farm boy who thinks they're obsolete! The times they are a changin'.

My favorite part is the little doggie leaping to safty. I guess the editors would not let them kill a dog.
