Trisha Brown in “Accumulation”

It's not much of a dance, but Trisha Brown could certainly have had a career as a sign-language interpreter in South Africa.

Oh, yes, recipient of MacArthur "genius grant."

I jumped forward and happened to catch some of the end credits. I had no sound but the credits said she was "dancing" to the Grateful Dead's "Uncle John's Band". What a waste of great music!

I kept thinking that she reminded me of the stoner girl/spinning dancers at Grateful Dead shows, and then in the credits!

"Dancing for the Barely Mobile" could have been a title for this. And, as to the MacArthur grant, it looks like the real genius shown is to get someone to give you funds for drivel such as this.

@KDP: The arts must be preserved and promoted against all odds; even if it means throwing the unwashed masses' ignorance in their collective face.

Well, I'm off to the indoor rain room.

Expat, I'm reminded of a quote, not sure who to attribute it to, "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture." I'm proud to be in that class of the unwashed where dance does nothing for me. Not even an Astaire - Rogers number registers on my little mind. :long:

I can understand your Astaire feelings, I can't stand the arrogant SOB. Rogers is another matter. :cheese:

She was flat. That number should be performed in C-Major, not A-Minor.
