"How else do we know that his rectum was stapled shut? Most importantly, Dr. Casiano said so." Well, my first clue would be the inability to pass gas. Wouldn't you just explode? What happens when you can't?? I think that warrants further study.

It seems this whol rectal stapling issue could be pretty easily solved by just having a court-ordered doctor do an exam.

kingmonkey - yes, but then how do you prove the doctor did it and you didn't do it to yourself? Stranger things have happened, as we're all aware!

I would say that the likelihood of someone stapling their ass shut should be minimal, but being a regular reader, i know that is sadly not the case.
I guess they'd have to see if surgical staples were used, or stationery staples.
